July 15—Hy-Vee, Inc. and IndyCar recently announced that Saturday, July 23 has been designated “Children’s Day” during the Hy-Vee IndyCar race weekend at Iowa Speedway.
More than 1,000 young people from youth programs and school districts in Central Iowa will attend the Hy-VeeDeals.com 250 race presented by DoorDash NTT IndyCar Series and also attend live concerts featuring the superstars country music Tim McGraw and Florida Georgia Line.
Additionally, University of Iowa women’s basketball star Caitlin Clark will also make a special appearance as part of the July 23 activities.
All kids attending the Hy-Vee IndyCar Race Weekend on July 23 will have the chance to meet Clark at the Hy-Vee KidsFit tent beginning at 11 a.m.
Fans will have the chance to visit Clark and even take part in a 30-second timer challenge with the standout.
Clark is the only NCAA Division I women’s basketball player to lead the nation in points and assists per game in a single season.
The Hy-Vee IndyCar Race Weekend is designed for fans of all ages and will include a Kids Zone, which features the Hy-Vee KidsFit Activity Zone, special celebrity appearances, the Red Bull Play Truck, the Iowa State University Advanced Learning Experience (FLEx) and other fun activations.
There will also be a weekend-long food truck challenge with 50 food truck vendors competing to be the fan favorite on the track. Racing fans will have the chance to vote for their favorite street food, with the top three food truck vendors winning cash prizes.
