KARACHI: The Karachi Port Trust handled 100,112 tons of cargo comprising 59,870 tons of imported cargo and 40,242 tons of exported cargo in the last 24 hours ending at 07:00.
Total import cargo of 59,870 included 45,597 tonnes of containerized cargo, 4,054 tonnes of bulk cargo, 4,420 tonnes of chickpeas and 5,799 tonnes of urea.
The total export of 40,242 includes 32,322 tons of containerized goods, 200 tons of bulk goods and 7,720 tons of talc lumps.
— Nearly 6416 containers including 3148 import containers and 3268 export containers were handled on Thursday.
The breakdown of imported containers shows 512 of 20 and 1184 of 40 loaded while 00 of 20 and 134 of 40 empty containers, while that of exported containers shows 513 of 20 and 945 of 40 loaded while 259 of 20 and 303 of 40 empty containers were handled during working hours.
Some 04 ships namely, Cosco Antwerp, One Henry Hudson, Northern Discovery and Al Shaffian have docked at Karachi Port.
About 03 ships namely Xin Yan Tian, Marlin Hestia and One Henry Hudson left the port of Karachi.
A total of 10 ships have been committed to the PQA docks in the past 24 hours, of which 04 ships, Seaspan Chiba, MSC Pina, Calypso Gas and IVS Bosch Hoek left port on Thursday morning, while 02 other ships, Irenes Ray and FSM should sail today in the afternoon.
A cargo volume of 137,110 tonnes, comprising 99,693 tonnes of imported cargo and 37,417 tonnes of exported cargo, including containerized cargo carried in 3,986` containers (1,785 TEU import and 2,201 TEU outbound). export) has been processed at the port within the last 24 hours.
There are 07 ships in Outer Anchorage from Port Qasim, among them, 03 ships, Navios Constellation, MSC Samu and DM Dragon and another ship ‘Yihai’ carrying containers, chemicals and kernal are expected to take place in QICT, EVTL and MW -1 on Thursday, October 27, 2022.
