Kashmir Tourism Department notifies rates for various services and activities

The Kashmir Tourism Authority has notified the rates for various services provided by registered tourism professionals to tourists and activities carried out at various tourist destinations in the Kashmir Valley.

A notification to this effect under the J&K Tourism Trade Registration Act 1978/82/2011, read with SRO 198 of 08.06.2012, has been issued by the Director of Tourism of Kashmir, Dr GN Itoo.

The tariffs have been notified for the years 2021-22 and 2022-2023, indicates the notification which was issued pursuant to the approval transmitted by the Government under the reference n° TSM/Estt-117/2021 of 09.12.2021.

Tourist services for which tariffs have been fixed/revised include tourist guides, ski guides, mountain/hiking guides, sledges, ski equipment, ice skating, ice skating equipment, rafting , Bicycling, Zorbing, Hydro Zorbing, Snowmobile, ATV, Motorcycle, Paragliding, Motor Boats, Bathing Boats, Labor/Help/Mazdoor/Porter for High Altitude Trekking, Flat Water Rafting , Pedal Boat Ride, Bungee Trampoline, Mechanical Mad-bull, Golf Cart Ride, Zipline, Hot Air Balloon, Battery Operated Vehicles in Sonmarg, Shikara Rides at Dal, Nigeen and Manasbal Lakes for different durations, Pony Rides for different durations and various tracks including Gulmarg, Pahalgam, Sonmarg, Yousmarg, Doodpathri and Ahrabal, photography of all kinds and other related services.

In accordance with the notification, the rates for these services as they currently exist will remain unchanged until March 31, 2022 and from April 01, 2022 to March 31, 2023 will be increased by 10%.

The Department has appealed to tourists and visitors who avail of these services not to pay more than the notified fares and in case of overcharging of fares, the same should be reported to the Department for regulation.
