JACK Darbyshire was among the try scorers as Lancashire completed a full sweep of the Academy Origin series yesterday.
The center was one of three young Warrington Wolves who were in the Red Roses 17 who beat Yorkshire 34-14 at Wakefield, with Jake Thewlis starting on the wing while Ben Hartille came off the bench.
It means Lancashire complete a 3-0 series win after winning previous games at Widnes and Salford, with Warrington players well represented throughout the series.
Second-rower Adam Holroyd captained the Yorkshire side, for whom team-mate Lucas Green also came off the bench.
All five players will be back in action for their club this weekend as the academy squad return to action.
Depending on how other results develop around them, Richard Marshall’s side could finish the weekend top of the Academy table if they can claim an eighth straight win.
They currently sit in second place – two points behind leaders Hull FC and ahead of St Helens and Leeds Rhinos on points difference – ahead of their clash with Bradford Bulls at Victoria Park on Saturday.
Kick-off is at 12pm and admission is free for 2022 subscribers. Admission for non-members is £5 for adults and £2 for concessions.
