Land Rover Kentucky’s three-day event adds activities

Brought to you by MARS Equestrian™ to run dressage and parasailing demonstrations

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ/News Release) – The three-day Land Rover Kentucky presented by MARS Equestrian™ (LRK3DE) event will host dressage and parasailing demonstrations upon its return to Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, Ky. Ky., April 28-May 1, 2022.

Organized by Equestrian Events Inc. (EEI), the three-day Land Rover Kentucky presented by MARS Equestrian™ event features one of seven annual five-star three-day events in the world, as well as the Kentucky CSI3 Invitational Grand Prix* of $225,000 presented by Hagyard Equine Medical Institute. Known as “The Best Weekend of the Year”, the event attracts over 80,000 spectators each year who also enjoy plenty of shopping, a variety of hospitality experiences and a wide variety of demonstrations.

Each demonstration will feature 2-3 runners and demonstrations in both disciplines will take place on Friday and Saturday at Walnut Arena and Rolex Stadium. Both will also be featured as part of Sunday’s Opening Ceremonies. Hart, as a Paralympic veteran, will also appear as part of “Champions Live!” a panel discussion held annually at LRK3DE that features US equestrian champions from each Olympic/Paralympic discipline.

“I am both thrilled and incredibly grateful to EEI for the opportunity to bring skydiving to the United States at such a prestigious and well-attended event as the three-day Land Rover Kentucky event,” said said Zimmerman. “I hope to contribute to the growth and accessibility of equestrian sport by promoting change within the equestrian community. The short term goal is for parasailing to become an officially recognized discipline which will help in ultimately to establish the resources, pathways and competitive opportunities that riders with disabilities badly need to compete in show jumping disciplines.

The three-day Land Rover Kentucky event is an exciting multi-day competition featuring Olympic-level riders and horses in what can best be described as an equestrian triathlon. Pairs of horses and riders compete in three phases of the competition – dressage, cross-country and show jumping – for $375,000 in prize money.

Two separate eventing competitions are organised, a CCI5*-L and a CCI4*-S. LRK3DE is the longest running five-star event in the Americas and, as a major event in the United States, it also serves as the Land Rover/USEF CCI-5*-L National Eventing Championship presented by MARS Equestrian™ for American athletes.

Single-day and multi-day tickets are still available. All ground admission tickets include general parking and admission to Kentucky Horse Park and International Trade Fair, but do not include competition access at Rolex Stadium on Thursday, Friday and Sunday. Reserved grandstand seating is sold separately from ground entry. Ground admission is free for children 12 and under with the purchase of adult tickets.

For a unique, world-class experience in Kentucky, exclusive Ringside Hospitality packages are also available, including Five Star Club (formerly Patron Plus), Lakeside Club (formerly Patron Club), and Kentucky Club (Saturdays only).

Dedicated tailgate spaces along the cross-country course allow spectators to experience the excitement of the thrilling cross-country day on Saturday, April 30! Hookers can bring their own food and drink subject to tailgating rules and there will also be concessions near the tailgating area. Tailgate packages include ground entry for 4 passengers in the vehicle used for tailgating and 1 reserved parking space near the cross-country course on Saturdays only. The Platinum and Premium spots have an unobstructed view of the course. For more information visit:
