WORCESTER, MA – New Year’s Eve in 2021 will not be a full return to normal thanks to the spike in coronavirus cases linked to the omicron variant. But the holiday season is back in a much bigger way compared to 2020.
Here are some of the events and activities happening near Worcester this year, including the return of the area’s biggest event: First Night in downtown Boston, which did not take place in person on December 31, 2020.
Worcester Common Ice Oval – The ice rink behind Worcester Town Hall has extended hours throughout the week due to school holidays. The rink will be open until 9 p.m. on New Year’s Eve.
New Year’s Eve at the Vernon Hotel, worcester — Head to the famous Kelley Square bar for an evening of music, poetry and drinks.
Lock 50 New Year’s Eve, worcester – This Canal District restaurant will offer special NYE dinners and outdoor igloos for added coronavirus safety.
Bowlero New Year, Shrewsbury — The bowling alley will offer party packages for families and midnight bowlers.
New Years Eve 80s Ball, Marlborough – Tackle Box Brewing Company will host a DJ spinning 80s music and dinner. This is a closed and paid event.
New Year’s pop-up at Lavin’s Liquors, Wayland — The Cousins Maine Lobster and Simply Scrunch Co. food truck will be at the local liquor store from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Booty & The Jett on New Years Day, Marlborough — If you can, head to the Lost Shoe Brewing in Marlborough on Saturday for a performance that’s been going on for over a year.
first night, Boston – The biggest local New Year’s Eve celebration will feature a full day of music, entertainment and food in and around Back Bay. The City Fireworks Show begins at 7:01 PM, followed by the Inner Harbor Fireworks Show at midnight.
