The next Sword & Shield Set will arrive in the West shortly after its release in Japan. Here’s when the Lost Origin release date will be.
Pokemon TCG Lost Origin Release Date – September 9, 2022
Pokemon TCG: Sword & Shield – Lost Origin will be released on September 9, 2022. The Japanese version of the set was released on July 15, 2022.
Lost Origin is the eleventh main Pokemon TCG expansion in the Sword & Shield series. This expansion sees the return of the Lost Zone, an area similar to the discard pile whose cards are no longer interactive through the usual means. Lost Origin will have over 190 maps overall, with VSTAR and VMAX maps and VMAX Climax maps.
Lost Origin focuses on the legendary Pokémon Giratina, appearing in its original form. Giratina V and Giratina VSTAR are among the cards that can interact with cards that have been sent to the Lost Zone, giving them abilities that go beyond what normal Pokémon cards can usually do. There will also be more Hisian forms of some of the Pokemon from Lost Origin, such as Hisuian Zroarok and Hizuian Goodra, as well as three new Radiant Pokemon like Radiant Gardevoir. The set will also be treated to 30 cards with special artwork in the Trainers Gallery, as well as over 15 new Trainer cards.
Pokemon TCG: Sword & Shield – Lost Origin follows on from the previous Pokemon TCG: Astral Radiance set. Based on the release date of Lost Origin, it’s possible this will be the last or at most the second Pokemon TCG expansion under the Sword & Shield series. Expect to see the Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet TCG cards take over soon, with the exciting prospect of all-new Pokemon appearing on TCG for the first time. What could the coming months bring to Pokemon TCG? What new mechanics will we see?
