Tales of the Jedi brings us Ahsoka Tano’s origin story and Dooku’s past

It’s still a long time before the live-action Ahsoka the show will be coming to Disney+, and the second season of The bad lot just moved to a January 4 release date, but next month we’ll have a little something to tide us over while we wait for Ahsoka and the Clones to return to the spotlight. Tales of the Jedi is an anthology series of six shorts exploring the lives of two key characters from the Star Wars prequel era: Ahsoka Tano and Count Dooku.

Of course, they won’t be the only beloved Jedi to appear on the show.

Tales of the Jedi just The Clone Wars mastermind Dave Filoni and original Ahsoka voice actor Ashley Eckstein return to voice the character. You’ll also hear the mellow tones of Liam Neeson as Qui-Gon Jinn – seen in the trailer as a padawan under his former master, Dooku – and a handful of clone wars cast including Dee Bradley Baker as Captain Rex and Matt Lanter as Anakin Skywalker.

Three of the episodes will follow Ahsoka – one includes her origin story, as the trailer makes clear – and three focus on Dooku. Ahsoka is seen here from a baby through to a young woman in the middle of her Jedi training, while Dooku seems to be leaning more and more towards control and power.
