The highlight of fun activities is Sunday August 21st.

Mayor’s Sunday is Funday is the 17th annual event that brings our community together for an afternoon of fun and sharing what’s going on in Rio Rancho.

In 2021, over 6000 of our neighbors came together to enjoy one of the coolest and most exciting events of the summer.
We have exciting events and musical entertainment, plus budget food, at this fun family picnic.

Booth attendees each bring their own creativity and entertainment.

Over 120 booth vendors occupying over 145 booth spaces, including sponsors such as Blue Cross Blue Shield, The Learning Experience, UNM Health, PNM, Waste Management and New Mexico Bank and Trust will be there to tell their stories.

You can consult the map of stands and events on

Fun activities include several jumps for kids, a climbing wall, a mechanical bull, a swimming pool, a Smokey Bear balloon and a fire engine and PMI helicopter. Isotope orbit will pass and Blue Bear and Bubbles the Elephant will likely be found wandering the park.

The raffle includes Lowe’s gas grills, Home Depot tools, a TV, jewelry, hot air balloon rides, Premier movie tickets, a Muzzle guitar, monthly dinners for a year, and many more great items from our local businesses such as Massage Envy, TJ Evergreen, Latitudes, Harris. Jewelry, Elevate and Pet Smart.

A list of participating items and companies will be listed on our webpage under Tombola.

The Knights of Columbus will cook hot dogs and burgers, Civitan will have their roast corn, Key Club will sell Dion’s Pizza and we have food trucks including Rollin n Hot, Menchie’s, Dawgs for a Cause, Hot Stuff and a few others.

Parking for the event will be in parking lots marked with Sunday is Funday signs along Grande Boulevard between 19e Ave and Sara Ave, and First Baptist Church afternoon. The Parking Map is the last item under the Stand and Map selection on the webpage.

Boys and Girls Club vans will shuttle between the parking lot and the park and back.

Mayor’s Sunday is Funday is coordinated by the Rio Rancho Kiwanis Club; with the help of City of Vision Civitan, Boys and Girls Club, Boy Scout Troop 714 and Kiwanis High School Key Clubs. After paying for event expenses, proceeds will go to Rio Rancho’s youth programs.

Please come have fun!
